About Me
My name is Amanda Steward and I was born and raised near Cleveland, Ohio where I currently reside. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education and I am certified to teach all subjects in grades Pre-Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. I have a Master's Degree in K-12 Literacy. When the pandemic hit, I spent a year teaching virtually where I was able to find unique ways to engage and reach my students through a screen. I am currently working toward being certified as an IDA Certified Dyslexia Interventionist as I am completing extensive training in the Orton-Gillingham Approach. I am trained to teach several Orton-Gillingham based program such as Sonday System and Fundations. I have spent the last 9 years as a classroom teacher where I have taught in both suburban and urban districts. I have taught grades Kindergarten, First, Third, and Fifth. Through my experience, I have learned that teaching children to read is my true passion. I have received extensive training in The Science of Reading and I am excited to apply my knowledge to help your child meet his or her specific reading goals.
