| Educational Background |
I’m a 20 year old university student with a passion for modernist literature, creative writing and psychology. I have experience in teaching children between the ages of 5-19, in English literature, English language and creative writing. Having been regarded as ‘gifted and talented’ throughout education, I was enlisted as a student teacher to help my peers and my school’s exam success increased by 20% with my assistance. I also completed a creative writing A level at 14 and a citizenship GCSE at 12. I have always had a passion for helping others and this passion is so strong that it led me to Buddhism, which I still practice today. One day I would love to be a teacher or a lecturer as I find it extremely rewarding and I feel like the education sector of society needs more teachers who love what they do and who are both patient and respected by the children. I currently teach 11+ and creative writing courses to school children. I also have multiple GCSE students who are excelling under my influence and who have increased academically and in confidence. I am also working as a writing consultant, designing an app and website to assist people of all ages and abilities in their writing and linguistic skills. |
| Subject Expertise |
Throughout my time in education I have been given the opportunity to help others develop their skills in ways they were always told they couldn’t. I believe a teacher's role is to teach the subject, but also to encourage and persuade others to find their passion and love for the subject. I have taught German from the ages of 5+, I took a group of students' reading from a grade 3 to a grade 6 and I had a small group of peers that I was enlisted to help with their english GCSE, whilst doing my own. The most rewarding feeling was having someone turn to me and thank me when their grade had gone from a 4 to a 7 after being encouraged to find their motivation. My style is one of patience and humour so that my students want to learn and never believe that they can’t achieve their goals. I also believe that there is a set of rules to write an essay that lead to top grades in every essay subject, if applied correctly. Since learning and applying my method, I have never failed to achieve the top grades. |
