Qualifications / Interests |
Educational Background |
I have a Bachelor's of Psychology from the University of South Florida. I have taken the AP Calculus AB and BC exams in high school (scored a 5) and have completed Calculus 3 at USF. |
Subject Expertise |
My expertise is in all maths from Pre-algebra to AP Calculus BC. I would prefer to teach high school or college age students, but also can teach middle school. I also can teach SAT/ACT prep. |
Professional Qualifications and Awards |
I don't have "official" qualifications or awards but I have been tutoring students 1-on-1 in mathematics grades K-12 since 2017. I have worked both at a tutoring center and as a self-employed tutor during this time. I've helped many students improve their grades, gain more confidence with mathematics, and prepare for standardized testing such as the SAT. |
Any other thing you would like others to know |
I have a passion for math, and I truly enjoy connecting with students over a math subject and watching them have that "a-ha" moment. I like tutoring because it gives students an opportunity to discuss material in an accepting and understanding environment that is more casual than a classroom setting. By relating to students, I try to help them become more comfortable and confident with collaborating and discussing difficult subjects. I like to give students a space where it's okay to be wrong, to not know, and to ask questions. |
