Hi I'm Richard! I am a member of Princeton University's Class of 2026 planning to major in Engineering, and I just graduated from The Lawrenceville School. As the oldest of 3 kids, I've always found myself helping out my little brother and sister with everything ranging from math homework to English essays which is why I also became a peer tutor at my school—simply because I loved to help others engage in the subjects that I love. I am an incredibly patient and easygoing person, and I'm always willing to go the extra mile to create a better learning environment for the student. |
| Subject Expertise |
My SAT score was 1580 (Math 800, English 780), my AP Calc BC score was a 5. Math has always been my best subject and I have helped tutor Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 as a peer tutor.
For math, I’ll usually walk a student through the process in a fun and creative way, and make sure they have a strong foundation before showing them any clever shortcuts and then I’ll have them do some practice problems. For the SAT, I’ve took over 30 practice tests and through that process, I’ve learned countless tips and tricks that will make the SAT reading and writing SO much easier.
I also love helping students work on their writing and I know what elite colleges look for in their ideal applicants. I'm happy to share my thoughts and give constructive criticism on a student's or college essays. I like to have a student send me their essays beforehand, so I can give them some deep edits and make comments, so that when I meet with them I can address all the issues without wasting time. |
